Midfielder Jack Paxman has left Ramsgate with a year remaining on his contract.

Paxman joined the Rams on an 18-month deal from Eastbourne Borough in January.

But he’s on the move after making a return to Billericay, the club he first joined after leaving Maidstone five years ago.

Paxman, 30, impressed in his short time at Southwood but missed the end of last season with a broken metatarsal as Rams were beaten to the Isthmian South East title by Cray Valley.

He made a comeback in the final game of the regular season, appearing as a substitute against Three Bridges, but didn’t feature in their play-off semi-final defeat by Chichester.

Ramsgate announced yesterday Paxman had agreed terms with a higher-division club and he’s since been unveiled by Isthmian Premier Ricay, appearing at last night’s fans’ forum.

“It feels very good,” Paxman told the Essex club’s YouTube channel.

“I feel like my previous stint at the club was probably cut short.

“It definitely ended sooner than I hoped but that is football and I’m back here now and really looking forward to getting started.”
