Nikki Bull looks to have pulled off another transfer coup by signing defensive midfielder Ali Fuseini from Vanarama National League Bromley.
Bull admitted he hadn’t even known the 27-year-old former Millwall man was available until he received a call out of the blue but wasted little time trying to lure him to Hartsdown.
He also praised Bromley and their manager Neil Smith for their part in helping push the deal through.
Bull said: “He’s an exceptional player and has played 80-odd games for Bromley during the last couple of seasons. He’s got a good pedigree, he gets around the park, he can break play up and he will also be a calming influence.
“We have a lot of forward thinking players and we needed someone who can help us lock it up a bit at the back.
“To be honest I didn’t know he was available until I got a call out of the blue but once I did, I knew I had to move quickly.
“I made some calls and people were saying ‘Wow, if you can get him he’s the sort of player who can make a real difference'.”
Bull says Fuseini can also play as an attacking midfielder and signed for Margate despite interest from at least one Vanarama National League club.
He added: “I can’t thank Neil Smith and Bromley enough for their part in helping to get this deal done. Without their co-operation we would never have got it over the line so I am truly grateful to them.”
Born in Accra, Ghana, Fuseini was scouted by Millwall as a youngster and clocked up 76 appearances from 2006-2010 before being released.
He also played League football with Lincoln City and has clocked up more than 130 appearances for Bromley in two spells, either side of a spell at Sutton United.
