Nikki Bull says Margate are in the thick of a relegation dogfight and is worried how they will cope.
Gate are 18th in the Vanarama National South table, following a 4-0 home defeat by title-chasing Sutton United, while other results went against them as well.
Five of the six clubs in the battle to avoid the drop, all picked up points, with St Albans City and Bath City, Gate's opponents on the last day of the season, both winning at top-10 sides, Maidenhead and Concord Rangers, while Havant and Waterlooville's game was off.
Speaking after the club's ninth successive defeat, the Gate boss said: "I have said we needed another four points, but we might need six now, with others around us winning.
"There are teams down there who are used to being in a dogfight, I am not too sure how many of our players are, but we will soon find out.
"I am trying to be as positive as I can ahead of the last three games, and give it my all because I don't want my legacy to be taking the team down."
Bull says he was disappointed by the performance - and the manner of the defeat against Sutton.
He said: "We set our stall out to try and frustrate them and stay in the game as long as possible.
"I don't feel they had to work too hard for their goals. and going 2-0 down to a side like them, you are not going to get it back.
"The boys work hard, but that is a given, it's the individual errors and the decision-making on and off the ball which has been our achilles heel."
He added: "We gave them both goals in the first half, the first was one punt downfield which has not been dealt with, and there was no need to make the foul there for the penalty.
"We created the two clear-cut chances of the half, (Charlie Wassmer and Kane Wills), and we've not hit the target on each occasion which is extremely disappointing."
