Margate have signed striker Jordan Chiedozie from Concord Rangers.
Boss Steve Watt moved quickly to replace Alex Flisher, who is out for the season with a serious knee injury.
Chiedozie has signed a two-year contract at Hartsdown Park.
The 23-year-old had a loan spell at Dartford two years ago, having started his career at home town club Bournemouth.
He has also played in the Football League with Cambridge United, before a spell at Boreham Wood prior to joining Concord.
Watt moved for Chiedozie following the news that Flisher is ruled out for the season after damaging his anterior cruciate ligament, seconds before the end of Gate's WW Martin Thanet Cup match against Ramsgate at Southwood on August 4.
He said: “Losing Alex for the season is a massive blow to what we want to achieve. Alex will come back stronger and we will do all we can to support him in his recovery.
Chiedozie's father John is a former Nigerian international, and played for Leyton Orient, Spurs and Notts County.
Gate host Leiston in the Bostik Premier on Saturday and Watt rates them highly.
He said: "They are my dark horses for the title.T
"They are a very good side , physically strong and a team who have been together for two or three years."
