Margate manager Jay Saunders has asked fans to keep the faith after losing two big players.
The Isthmian League Premier Division side have confirmed that strikers Kadell Daniel and Elliott Reeves have both left the club.
Fans’ favourite Daniel wants to be closer to home while fellow striker Reeves is heading back to the Midlands after his current job role was not renewed.
Saunders, reacting to the departures, said: “Kadell has been fantastic for us but unfortunately he has got himself a new job and he is looking to do a little less travelling.
“Losing someone of Kadell’s quality is disappointing on the pitch but also off it.
"He was a character around the squad and our fans loved him but he came down from full time football and now the job he does means he wants to do less travelling. I completely understand and we wish him all the best”.
Reeves was also a popular figure at Hartsdown Park.
“Losing Elliott is another big blow,” Saunders commented.
“He was a brilliant lad and he is gutted that he can’t stay with us because of work commitments.”
Saunders has left the door open for both to return should their circumstances change.
Despite the departures, Saunders is confident of some positive announcement soon.
He said: “I just want to pass on the message to the supporters to keep the faith.
“It’s an unprecedented time at the moment and we don’t know when the season will start etcetera but we are having positive conversations and we hope to make some positive announcements over the coming weeks.”
