A new club-record partnership on Saturday helped Margate beat Willesborough in Kent Regional League Division 2 East.
Willesborough won the toss on a baking hot afternoon and so, inevitably, decided to bat first.
Lewis Back (83) laid the foundations for their score before Mohammed Nahid hit an unbeaten 100 to set Margate a huge 264 to win from their 40 overs.
Margate bowler Ian Robinson, dad of England bowler Ollie, only conceded 24 runs from his nine overs and took one wicket.
In reply, Margate were soon 24-2 when skipper Jamie Dewell was joined by Billy Woollard.
The two started steadily, increasing the run-rate as the chase progressed but, even with 10 overs to go, Margate still required 100.
The pair then picked up the pace and reached their target with eight balls to spare when Woollard (98 not out) hit two of the last three balls out of the ground for six, but he was outscored by Dewell (138 not out).
