Margate's Ryman League Premier Division play-off semi-final against Dulwich Hamlet due to take place at Hartsdown Park on Thursday night has been postponed following a ruling by the Football Assocation.
A statement said the decision had been made to delay Gate's tie until the situation surrounding Enfield Town had been clarified.
The North London club finished fifth, a point clear of Met Police, and were due to visit Hendon, but are facing a charge of playing an ineligible player, and have requested a personal hearing which is due to take place this week.
A Ryman League spokesman said: "The matter was referred to the FA because our rules make provision for matters concerning promotion to be decided by the Leagues Committee of The FA. The Ryman League itself is not empowered to make such a decision.
"All clubs involved have been informed of the FA's decision and will continue to be kept informed of developments by the Ryman League."
The League informed Margate earlier this week the game could go ahead, but a club spokesman said: "On Tuesday evening we received a contrary email stating: ' having reviewed the situation again and taken into account possible as yet unknown outcomes it has been decided to advise the Isthmian Football League that the Premier Division Play-Off Semi Finals should be postponed.'
"Margate FC sympathises with supporters who have booked tickets and made travel arrangements.
"Any tickets bought in advance should be retained by supporters and await the new date when more details will be announced."
Margate have already sold 1000 tickets for the game with Dulwich receiving an allocation of 600.
