Margate manager Steve Watt has made another raid on former club Maidstone to sign Tom Mills.
The 25-year-old full-back has moved to Hartsdown on a two-year deal and joins a strong contingent of ex Maidstone players including James Rogers, Jack Evans, Ben Swift and Alex Flisher.
Mills, who joined the Stones from Sheppey, spent seven years at the club clocking up almost 350 appearances.
The National League club recently revealed that the player would be leaving the Gallagher Stadium due to work commitments.
After attracting interest from clubs in National South as well as other clubs in the Bostik League Premier Division, Mills has opted to join several familiar faces at Hartsdown Park next season.
Maidstone boss Jay Saunders said: “We all knew this moment was coming but it still seems slightly surreal to be talking about Millsy leaving the club.
"I was gutted he wasn’t able to take up the deal with ourselves but I am pleased for all parties that we were able to get this deal done.
“He’s been a massive part of everything we’ve achieved in recent years and those 340 appearances will take some beating. I know everyone will join me in thanking him for all he did for the club and wishing him every success for the future.”
