Margate manager Jay Saunders has made two signings ahead of the club's FA Cup second qualifying round tie at home to Concord Rangers on Saturday.
Experienced central midfielder Reece Prestedge has signed on a permanent basis from Welling United, while defender Emmanuel Fernandez comes in on a short-term loan from Gillingham.
Prestedge, 33, has played under Saunders before when he was manager at Maidstone United where he formed an excellent partnership with Stuart Lewis.
He has also previously played for a host of clubs including Bromley, Dagenham & Redbridge, Hemel Hempstead, East Thurrock and Hemel Hempstead.
Scholar Fernandez has impressed as part of Gillingham's youth team and spent time on loan with Sheppey in the Southern Counties East League.
The youngster has initially signed for a month.
Margate have been hit by a spate of injuries of late with defenders Ben Swift and Chris Sessegnon both sidelined by hamstring injuries.
Summer signing Michael Abnett is still to start a game while young forward James Jeffrey has just undergone an operation on his hand following a freak training accident.
Jordy Robins (knee) and Jack Richards (ankle) both came off in the 2-1 Isthmian Premier win at Cheshunt last weekend but are expected to feature against Concord.
Foward Kudus Oyenuga (hamstring) should also return.
