ENTRIES are being invited for a new golf tournament to be staged at the Westgate and Birchington course.

The inaugural Thanet Open, an 18-hole individual Stableford competition, will take place on Thursday, October 19, and is open to men, women and juniors of all abilities.

There will be two categories, for players off handicaps of less than 22, and for those playing off 22 and above. The maximum handicap permitted will be 32.

As well as prizes for the top three in each section, including a golf break for two for the winner, there will also be awards for the top female and junior.

Entry costs £29 and application forms can be downloaded from the website below. Entry is also possible on line.

Organisers are now looking for hole sponsors, at a cost of £25 per hole, and further details can be obtained from Lee Williams on 0771 7790101.
