Plans to shut the A21 near Tonbridge for four days have been postponed.
Last month, highways bosses revealed that the road would be closed around Tonbridge to traffic in both directions from Wednesday, January 8 to Monday, January 13.

But now, the closure has been postponed while alternative arrangements are made.
It is not yet known when it will take place, but Highways England say it will be rescheduled for another time early this year.
Cllr Mark Hood said: "Highways England have handled this very poorly.
"The first anyone knew about it was just before Christmas when they put up these massive yellow signs in the high street.
"But now the signs have gone, there is no communication from them [Highways England].
"If you go on the website it says 'these works are to be confirmed' but when you phone up the operators give me full detailed closure times so it is very confusing and highly unsatisfactory."
The closure is to enable maintenance and reconstruction work on parts of the A21 Medway Viaduct and to the Manor Farm subway, also on the A21.
Highways report that it is a 'complicated project' to plan for, as diversion routes could affect roads in Kent, Surrey and East Sussex, and needs to be coordinated with major improvement work being carried out on the M20 motorway.
A 50mph speed restriction and weight restriction will remain in place on the A21 over the subway until the work has been completed. The subway is closed during this time too.
