A21 reopens between Pembury and Kipping's Cross 12 hours after 'serious collision'

An A-road has reopened 12 hours after a "serious collision" shut the route.

The southbound A21 was closed between the A228 Pembury turn-off and B2160 Kipping's Cross junction at 6.30pm yesterday evening.

National Highways says "complex investigation work" continued throughout the night.

The incident was described as a "serious collision", but further details are yet to be provided.

The northbound carriageway was also closed following the incident, but reopened yesterday evening.

The southbound side was clear by 7am.

Police have been contacted for more information.
