A woman was cut free from her car after a pile-up on the A21 today.

Police were called just after 10.30am to reports of a crash on the coast-bound carriageway between the A225, Hildenborough and the A26 near Tonbridge.

The road was blocked at Lower Haysden Lane following a three-vehicle crash.

Fire crews used hydraulic cutting equipment to remove the roof of a car to free a woman who was trapped.

She was passed into the care of paramedics on scene suffering from minor injuries.

Motorists were stuck in miles of tailbacks following the incident which saw the A21 closed for over an hour.

The injuries of those involved are not thought to be life threatening.
