Motorists on the A21 in Hildenborough experienced delays after a vehicle fire stopped all traffic between Tonbridge and Tunbridge Wells

All traffic was stopped on the A21 this morning after a bus was reported to be on fire.

Long delays were experienced on the northbound carriageway between Southborough and Hildenborough.

Firefighters were called at 6.07am to reports of a bus alight, but upon arrival found it was a false alarm.

It is believed there was an oil leak in the engine compartment, but no firefighting action was carried out.

Kent Police attended the scene for traffic control.
