Judd School in Tonbridge set to host weeks of cricket coaching courses for young people

Aspiring cricketers have the opportunity to brush up on their skills at a range of coaching courses next month.

Young people aged between five and 15 aiming to be the next Alistair Cook or wanting to try something new, are invited to attend the 10-week courses being held at the Judd School in Tonbridge from Saturday, October 11.

The courses, organised by the Tonbridge and Malling District Cricket Partnership, are split into different age-groups and will run throughout the autumn and winter.

Aspiring cricketers can take part in a range of courses next month

There are two Seedling Courses being run, one for children under seven and another for children aged between seven and nine. These hour-long sessions cost £50 per child and begin at 1pm for the Under 7’s and 2pm for the Over 7’s.

There will be two junior courses, one for children under 12 and the other for children over 12.

These cost £80 per person. The Under 12’s course will run from 1pm to 2.30pm and the Over 12’s from 2.30pm to 4pm.

A discount of 25% is available on all cricket courses for Leisure Pass holders.

A further series of 10 week courses will then take place in the New Year, beginning on January, 10.

Cllr Maria Heslop,Tonbridge & Malling Borough Council’s cabinet member for leisure, youth & arts, said: “These courses are great for any child wanting to try their hand at cricket or improve their skills in a fun and informal atmosphere.

"The courses not only promote healthy living but they are also a great way for youngsters to make new friends and build confidence."

The classes are open to children of all ages and abilities. Parents are welcome to stay and watch the coaching sessions.
