A Tonbridge man who filmed himself raping a child has not shown any remorse for his actions, police have said.
Christopher Hutson, of Lodge Oak Lane, was jailed today for a wave of child sex offences between 2014 and 2018.
The 58-year-old pleaded guilty to two counts of rape of a child under 13 years of age, six counts of sexual activity with a child, four counts of taking indecent images of a child and two counts of possessing indecent photographs of a child.
Det Insp Matthew Basford, a senior investigating officer for the case, said: "Hutson is a depraved individual who has not shown any remorse for his appalling actions over a number of years.
"The court has noted the level of his offending and it is only right that he is to serve a substantial prison sentence.
"I would like to commend the bravery of the victim who showed great courage in coming forward to report the abuse and help us bring this man to justice."
Hutson has been in police custody since July 10, when he was first arrested and charged.
He was jailed for 14 years after appearing at Maidstone Crown Court on Friday.
Under the extended sentence for public protection, Hutson will be on licence for a further four years.
He will have to serve two thirds of the term before he will be considered for release.
An NSPCC spokesman said: "Hutson’s awful actions will have had a catastrophic effect and his victim has shown tremendous courage in speaking out, reliving this ordeal, and helping to bring a vile abuser to justice.
"We hope they have received all the help and support available to them so they can start to move forward with their life and that today’s sentence brings them some form of comfort."
Hutson's name will appear indefinitely on the sex offenders’ register. A sexual harm prevention order was made and he will be barred from working with children or vulnerable adults.
