Police have renewed their appeal to find a man wanted for questioning in relation to a department store robbery.

A large quantity of cash was reported stolen from Beale's department store in Tonbridge on Saturday, March 11.

The money was taken from a safe after a man entered an officed inside the Angel Centre store.

Do you know this man? Police want to talk to him.

The man was disturbed by a staff member, who he then pushed out of the way before fleeing the premises on foot.

He was seen running in the direction of the train station before getting in a taxi.

Kent Police issued a CCTV image of the suspect as part of a witness appeal.

Now they have released a second image, and are continuing to carry out inquiries in both Tonbridge and Tunbridge Wells, where the taxi travelled to.

Detective Constable Asa Buckland said: "We believe the suspect took a taxi into the heart of Tunbridge Wells, and got out close to Argos in Calverley Road.

"This would have been shortly after 4pm when all the shops were still open and the town centre still fairly busy."

The suspect is described as a black male, aged between 20 and 30 years old, of medium build.

He had black cropped curly hair, and was wearing a black or navy jacket, which was elasticated at the neckline and wrists.

DC Buckland added: "He may have appeared agitated or in a hurry and it is possible he may also have been walking in a strange way or with difficulty, as he is reported to have concealed the large amount of stolen cash in his trousers.

"Our investigation leads us to believe he is likely to have headed in the direction of either Monson Road or towards Carr’s Corner roundabout.

"We are continuing to make enquiries with local businesses, including reviewing further possible CCTV opportunities and we are also continuing to urge anyone who was in this area around this time and who may have seen anything suspicious to get in touch.

"Any detail, no matter how small could provide vital information."

Anyone with information is urged to call Kent Police on 01622 60410, reference YY/6377/17. Alternatively contact Kent Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
