A teenager has been arrested on suspicion of fleeing the scene of an accident and crashing through a garden fence.

The drama unfolded yesterday evening at around 8.45pm when the suspect allegedly failed to stop after crashing into a bollard in Wincliffe Road.

A police helicopter was scrambled but officers stopped the driver after he lost control and careered into the fence before smashing into a wall on Hadlow Road.
