Friends and family "absolutely devastated" by the death of a young motorcyclist in a crash are raising money for a memorial bench.

Harley Hicks died after his black Sinnis Apache motorcycle was involved in a collision with a blue Ford Ka on the A26 in East Sussex as he returned home to Tonbridge from work.

Now well-wishers are seeking to raise £1,000 to purchase a memorial seat as a place people can go to remember the 24-year-old.

A Go Fund Me page has been set up by friend Fiona Nunnery and so far donations totalling £560 have been made.

The online appeal reads: "Harley was 24 and had his whole life ahead of him. All his family and friends are absolutely devastated and while his funeral is taken care of, myself and his friends would love to raise enough money to purchase a tribute bench with a dedicated plaque on it.

"We want to place the bench in a place he spent a lot of time growing up as a young boy/teenager to give everybody a place to go to remember him and all the amazing, happy memories we all hold close to our hearts."

Mr Hicks was taken to King's College Hospital in London after the accident, which happened on Eridge Road in Eridge Green on March 23, but he later died of the injuries sustained in the collision.

A 24-year-old woman from Crowborough was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and has since been released under investigation while inquiries are ongoing.

Sussex Police have launched an appeal for anyone who may have witnessed the collision or who has any dashcam footage to make contact with them.
