Fire crews were called to garage blaze this morning, believed to have been started by an electrical fault in a chest freezer.
Two fire engines arrived at Smithers Close in Tonbridge just after 9am and crews used hose reel jets to extinguish the flames, which were at risk of spreading to the adjoining house.
No casualties were reported and the fire service left at around 10.30am.
Following the incident, crews are reminding people to always check their white goods are in good working order, and to ensure fridges and freezers are defrosted regularly to avoid overheating or overworking.
