Emergency railway incident between Tonbridge and Sevenoaks

Emergency services descended on a railway line tonight after a person was hit by a train.

All trains were suspended in the area for more than an hour between Tonbridge and Sevenoaks following the incident, which happened at 9pm.

Train operator Southeastern confirmed at 11pm that a person had been hit by a train.

Tickets were accepted on Arriva buses between Tonbridge and Tunbridge Wells to help stranded passengers home.

Lines have now reopened but trains would not stop at Hildenborough until further notice.
