Man and child hurt after being hit by car in Main Road, Edenbridge

A man carrying a young child has been left seriously injured after they were hit by a car.

Police want witnesses to get in touch after the incident in Edenbridge .

It happened just before 5pm on Thursday in Main Road and the car involved is a blue Seat Alhambra.

The man is in his 50s and he was holding a one-year-old boy.

It is understood the pair were in the road when they were struck.

A Kent Police spokesman said: "Officers attended along with medical crews and the man was taken to a London hospital by air ambulance.

"He remains in a critical condition.

"The child was also taken to hospital, but his injuries are not believed to be serious.

Anyone with information is asked to contact officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit.

Drivers and residents are also urged to check dash camera footage, or privately held CCTV, that may capture either the collision or the vehicle in the moments leading up to it.
