A man had to be cut free from his car following an early morning crash.

Kent Fire and Rescue Service was called to a collision on Alders Road, Tonbridge, at 5.20am today.

Two fire engines arrived at the scene to find the driver of the car, which was the only vehicle involved in the accident, trapped by his injuries.

Firefighters used hydraulic rescue equipment to remove the roof to free the man, who was then placed in the care of paramedics.

The scene was made safe before the road was reopened just before 6am.
