Patrick Murphy denies murdering father and wounding brother in Hectorage Road, Tonbridge

A man denied murdering his father and wounding his brother when he appeared at Maidstone Crown Court today.

Patrick Murphy, of Hectorage Road, Tonbridge, will now stand trial on January 11 next year.

He is alleged to have killed his father Joe Murphy, who was 54, and wounded Mark Murphy, 34, with intent to cause grievous bodily harm on May 19.

The 29-year-old is also accused of having an offensive weapon, a kitchen knife, in Hectorage Road.

Mark Murphy suffered wounds to his throat, upper arm and hand. He was taken to King’s College Hospital in London for surgery.

Murphy, who wore a grey tracksuit, was remanded in custody.
