A former pub and old off-licence have been sold for above the asking price at an auction.

The Queen's Head in Five Oak Green and 64 Priory Street, Tonbridge went under the Clive Emson's hammer yesterday.

Both lots sold for above the guide price with 64 Priory Road reaching a final price around £70,000 more.

Currently trading as an off-licence, the freehold guide price of the building sat between £160-£170,000 and sold for £236,225.

The former pub also went for above the guide price - £9,000 more than the £260,000 it was listed for.

Auction appraiser, Chris Milne said: “This former pub is in need of refurbishment, but it is situated in a good area, close to Tonbridge and Tunbridge Wells.

“It is the last of the pubs in the village of Five Oak Green and we don’t know what the future holds for it."

The building were among among 112 lots listed for sale by Clive Emson, the land and property auctioneers.

They hold auctions eight times a year with the next being on June 16. Lot entries close on May 24, with the online catalogue released on May 28.
