A man is due in court today after someone was reported to be carrying a gun on a busy rush hour train.

It comes after an off-duty police officer reported a passenger on a London-bound train carrying what was believed to be a gun.

The train was travelling from Paddock Wood when police were called, just after 5pm last night.

The carriage was held outside Tonbridge, and part of the station was shut down to ensure the public's safety.

No-one was injured.

A 17-year-old from Surrey was due in Sevenoaks magistrates court today charged with possessing an air gun.
