It means the final service of the morning will run at 9.01am.

The decision was made after an empty train derailed at low speed whilst leaving the Tonbridge depot on Sunday .

Network Rail engineers have been on site working to fix the problem and works will continue to take place throughout today to re-rail the train and fix the damage caused to the track.

However, it said due to the nature of the problem it will not be possible to complete the work before tonight.

Meanwhile, Southern is currently in the process of sourcing replacement buses to operate in both directions between Redhill and Tonbridge.

These buses are due to operate until the train has been re-railed with work completion estimated to be around 7pm.

Tickets will be accepted on Southeastern services running between Tonbridge and London Bridge and London Underground services.

Passengers are being advised to check before they travel with several services on the Hastings Line between Tunbridge Wells and Charing Cross also suspended during the morning and evening peaks.
