Services will resume soon at Tonbridge railway station after a man was arrested for wandering onto the tracks

Police had to be called after a man wandered onto the tracks at Tonbridge station.

The man, who is thought to have consumed alcohol, was spotted on the tracks at around 3.40pm.

Southeastern contacted Network Rail to turn the power off, and British Transport Police attended to remove the man.

A spokesman for British Transport Police said a man was arrested on suspicion of trespass at the station.

They were assisted by Kent Police in apprehending the man.

A spokesman for Southeastern said the power was due to be turned back on soon and normal services would be resumed.
