Raymond Wareham: Tonbridge fire death inquest opens

The inquest into the death of a man who died from multiple organ failure after setting himself on fire has been opened and adjourned.

Coroner Roger Hatch heard that Raymond Wareham, 61, a self-employed builder, originally from Pembury, had died from multi-organ failure and severe burns on August 7, this year.

It was said that Mr Wareham had poured petrol over himself and then set himself on fire.

Emergency services attending the incident in Estridge Way earlier this month

He leaves a widow, Caroline.

No date had yet been set for the full inquest.

Emergency services were called to the incident at Estridge Way in Tonbridge on the evening of Friday, August 6. Mr Wareham was taken to hospital, but died the next day.
