PUPILS from a Tonbridge primary school have won a top prize in the Sky News Weather Challenge competition by designing a poster for use during the channel's weather report.
Sebastian Slater, 10, and George Michelle, 11, from Hilden Grange Preparatory School in Dry Hill Park Road, designed a poster inspired by news coverage of whales beached by rough weather to become one of only 16 winning entries from across the UK.
Their poster will feature on Sky News during May and June and the school has won goody bags for the whole class and medals for the winning artists.
The competition was open to seven to 11-year-olds learning about the weather as part of the National Curriculum.
Rebecca Bruce, Hilden Grange's head of art, said: "The children worked really hard both researching their subject and creating their fantastic posters. We are thrilled with their achievement."
