FIVE men will be sentenced today after being convicted of kidnap, robbery and firearms charges following a £53million raid at a Securitas depot in Tonbridge in 2006.

Two other men, car dealer John Fowler and Keith Borer, were yestereday acquitted of all charges by the jury following a seven-month trial.

During the raid the depot manager, Colin Dixon, his wife and their child were kidnapped at gunpoint by men posing as police officers.

The judge at the Old Bailey has warned that the guilty men faced "very substantial" sentences.

During the robbery members of the the Dixon family were warned by the gang: "You will die if you do not do as you are told."

Police have recovered £21million of the stolen cash. The search goes on for the remaining £32million.

Those found guilty were: Stuart Royle, 49, of Allen Street, Maidstone, Kent; Jetmir Bucpapa, 26, of Hadlow Road, Tonbridge; garage owner Roger Coutts, 30, of The Green, Welling, south-east London; Lea Rusha, 35, of Lambersart Close, Southborough, near Tunbridge Wells, Emir Hysenaj, 28, of New Road, Crowborough, Sussex.

Kent Police have confirmed in court that the investigation into the robbery cost in excess of £5million.
