Specsavers in Tonbridge will welcome guide dog puppy in aid of Guide Dog Week and Guide Dogs for the Blind

Staff at a Tonbridge opticians are going canine-crazy for Guide Dogs Week with a visit from a guide dog puppy and a range of competitions in-store.

Specsavers, in the High Street, are hosting a fundraising event on Saturday, October 11, where a puppy walker will be bringing in her furry friend for people to meet.

Staff will be baking sweet treats and a giant dog will be travelling the streets of Tonbridge to collect money for Guide Dogs for the Blind.

Children will also be invited in-store for face painting.

The store will be raising money for the charity throughout the week from Saturday, October 4 and holding various competitions, including a Best Looking Dog giveaway.

Store director at Specsavers in Tonbridge, Angus Hathorn said: ‘We’re determined to raise as much money as possible for Guide Dogs for the Blind during our fundraising week.

"We’ll be donating £1 from every eye test towards the charity and will be accepting all donations throughout the week. It’s important that our community comes together to support such a life-changing cause."
