Teenage van driver assaulted in Hever Road, Edenbridge following crash

Published: 07:00, 28 May 2015

A teenage van driver was forced off the road and assaulted by four people after crashing into a wall in Edenbridge.

The 17-year-old was reportedly attacked by four people who had stopped in a car nearby, after the white transit van he was driving smashed into a garden wall in Hever Road.

His face was cut in the assault and he suffered several other injuries, but police say it is not clear how these were caused. The wound to his face required stitches.

The attack happened at about 2pm on Sunday, May 24.

Detective Sergeant Alec Wood said: ‘It remains unclear what caused the original collision but we are not ruling out that the offenders who carried out this assault may also have forced the victim off the road.

Officers are looking for three men and a woman. The suspects were traveling in a silver Vauxhall Corsa car.

DS Wood added: "It is important we hear from anyone who may have witnessed the assault but has yet to come forward.

"You may have seen either of these vehicles leading up to the incident, or witnessed the offenders’ car leaving the scene. Even the smallest piece of information could help with our investigation."
