A woman has been rescued by firefighters after being stuck in a river overnight.
Crews were called to the River Medway at Tonbridge at 5.42am after a passerby heard the woman crying for help.
They found her stuck up to her waist in water, near Cannon Lane, unable to climb out due to the high banks.
A Kent Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: "It appears that the woman had fallen in the river late last night after attempting to tether a boat that had come adrift, and she had been stuck in the water for several hours."
Crews wearing dry suits and personal floatation devices used lines to secure themselves to the shore and swam out to the woman, who was brought to safety using throw lines and a ladder.
They provided first aid to the woman, who was suffering from the effects of the cold, before handing her over to paramedics.
