A man has been arrested in Tonbridge after reports of attempts to break into parked vehicles.

Kent Police was called at 1.30am today to suspicious activity in St Mary’s Road.

Patrols attended and carried out a search of the area. They pursued a suspect who ran from them in Priory Road, where he was later found hiding in bushes in a garden.

A 28-year-old man from Sevenoaks was arrested on suspicion of going equipped to steal, vehicle interference and for possession of a controlled drug. He remains in custody.
