Complaints about wolf-whistling on building sites are nothing new.

But they're not usually aimed at the builders.

Up to 10,000 students at West Kent College have been warned not to be saucy over fears that it could be seen as harassment.

The workmen are at the campus in Brook Street, Tonbridge, as part of a £94m three-year building project. So far not one of the admired workers has complained.

A note was posted on the student's intranet site, saying: “It has come to the attention of the college that some female students have been making comments to, or whistling at, the builders both whilst on site and as they walk around the campus.

“Everyone has the right to go about campus comfortable and free from harassment and that includes our contractors and visitors.”

The builders, Galliford Try, said no complaints have been made and said its workers have a "good relationship" with the students.
