A water main has burst and is flooding a nearby road this morning.
The main close to the Flying Dutchman pub in Hildenborough has ruptured.
Tweets from local residents say the area is being flooded with the water and drivers should approach with caution.
The water is flowing close to the junction between Tonbridge Road and Leigh Road.
South East Water's Distribution Manager, Michael Phillips, said: "Our control centre identified a problem at about 4.30am today and a technician was immediately sent to the area to investigate.
"We found a 12 inch diameter water main had burst, which was causing water to run into nearby gardens. To prevent damage, we had to turn the supply off.
"Unfortunately, this has meant some residents on the Brookmead Estate and the surrounding areas are without water this morning.
"Our teams are currently on site to repair the burst main and we are also working on re-routing water around our network to return supplies to our customers as quickly as possible."
The provider has also recommended that residents collect free bottled water from the nearby pet shop while water pressure is low.
However, local resident Andrew Ferry has alleged in a tweet that the company are only providing two bottles of free water per household, no matter the size of the household.
In response to this, a spokesperson for South East Water said: “We do ask our customers to help us maintain this supply by only taking the water they need and we do say two bottles per person at a time should be sufficient for most people.
“However, our bottled water stations are manned and anyone with a large family or who are collecting on behalf of a neighbour can ask for additional bottles, which we will be happy to give.
“For our vulnerable customers we offer a service where they can register with us so if an emergency happens , we can help them as a priority.
“If anyone is concerned about a vulnerable family member or neighbour, please call our 24 hour emergency number 0333 000 1100.”
