Drivers faced queues on a main road following reports of a three-car accident.

The disruption occurred on the southbound carriageway of the A21 near to Sevenoaks, with traffic queuing while the road was closed.

It affected a stretch of the bypass between the M25 and the A225 turn-off for Hildenborough and Sevenoaks.

At this stage it is not known if anyone was hurt as a result of the incident.

The incident happened at about 4pm and the road was closed until about 8.20pm.

Kent Police has been contacted for comment.
