The date a home improvement retailer will close the doors of a Tonbridge store has been released.
After plans were submitted that suggested Homebase in the town could shut down to make way for another venture, the DIY specialist has released a date for the branch to cease trading.
The Cannon Lane store's last day will be June 20, and Homebase has urged its customers to take their business to a nearby store, in Tunbridge Wells.
Should the proposed plans submitted last month get the green light, one option is to split the current Homebase unit in two, allowing for an extra retailer.
A spokesperson for Homebase said: "Following a consultation period with colleagues, Homebase can confirm that its store on Canon Lane in Tonbridge will close on June 20."
Employees from the store will be assisted in finding alternative employment, as the statement reads: "Discussions are being held to find alternative employment in neighbouring Homebase and Argos stores."
"We remain committed to serving the local community, with customers able to visit our neighbouring Homebase store in Tunbridge Wells."
The store will close on June 20, and up until that date the branch will be looking to get rid of excess stock.
