Tonbridge: Tyrone Shubert jailed for hiding drugs in plug socket in flat

A drug dealer has been jailed after hiding cocaine in a false plug socket in a Tonbridge flat.

Tyrone Shubert was arrested when police searched his Canterbury Crescent home on Tuesday, December 22, 2015.

The 29-year-old pointed officers to places in the flat where he kept cannabis, as well as a stash of cocaine that was stored in a kitchen cupboard.

The drugs hidden in the plug socket were discovered during further searches. There were 21 separate bags of cocaine found.

More than 17 grams of cocaine were seized in total, as well as 72 grams of cannabis.

Shubert's phone also gave police extra evidence of him being a dealer.

He was sentenced to two years and four months imprisonment at Maidstone Crown Court on Wednesday, June 29.

Shubert fully admitted his involvement in supplying drugs, and has previously pleaded guilty to counts of possessing cannabis and cocaine with intent to supply.

Chief Inspector for Tonbridge and Tunbridge Wells, Dave Pate, said: "Despite Shubert's best efforts to conceal some of the drugs, a thorough search of his property eventually led to seizure of a substantial amount of cocaine, split into 28 separate bags.

"This clearly showed Shubert's intention to supply drugs to a number of people, and the sentence he has been given sends a clear message that dealing drugs in our communities is completely unacceptable.

"Going forward, we will continue to target anyone who attempts to supply these destructive substances in our towns and ensure they are brought to justice."
