A major A road was closed this evening due to a large number of escaped sheep.

The A21 was closed northbound between Tonbridge and Sevenoaks.

Police were called to the scene to try and coax the livestock from the thoroughfare.

The shut stretch covered just over five miles between west Tonbridge and Morley’s Roundabout in Sevenoaks.

The road reopened at around 9pm.
