A FAIRY with a broken wand is bad news when it comes to granting Christmas wishes.
But youngsters in Years 1 and 2 at Hilden Oaks School, Tonbridge, held audiences under a spell when they put on an enchanting musical play instead of the traditional nativity.
Sugar and Plum tells the story of two fairies who have their wand broken by a naughty elf and have to recruit the help of the toy-tester and Santa Claus to get it repaired.
The five and six year-olds gave two performances, on Monday and Tuesday, under the supervision of Year 2 teacher Sue Conlon.
Headmistress Susan Sunderland said: “The children have really enjoyed preparing for this production. Performing their play to their families makes the perfect start to the Christmas season.”
n The school has asked us not to publish the children’s names.
