People will soon be able to get in to the Christmas spirit with a magical train ride around The White Cliffs, on board The Cathedrals Express steam train.
On Tuesday, December 23 the train will be stopping at Tonbridge, Headcorn and Ashford offering passengers the chance to be transported back in time in the surroundings of 1950s and 60s carriages.
The tour takes in coastal scenery on the four hour round trip and will be hauled by two 'Black Five' steam locomotives as it travels, making its way to Canterbury before a 30 mile run along the coast.
Passengers can enjoy a range of views as the train begins its climb from the foot of the White Cliffs at Dover Harbour to the summit above Folkestone.
Steam Dreams’ chairman, Marcus Robertson, said: “Our circular trips are always very popular and our Christmas tour around the White Cliffs is one of the highlights of our festive calendar. To be hauled not just by one, but two Black Five engines alongside the English Channel will be an unforgettable experience for those on board.”
Passengers on board the train have an opportunity to travel in four classes ranging from premium standard at £89 where they are seated at tables for four, with white tablecloths and complimentary tea and coffee at their seats, right up to Pullman Style Dining at £215 per person where they enjoy a five course dinner.
The carriages are all beautifully decorated for the festive season and passengers will be served mulled wine and mince pies.
