Fire crews called to Hartlake Road in Tudeley as flooding shuts several roads in Tonbridge and Yalding

A woman has been rescued from a vehicle by firefighters after flooding shut several roads.

Two fire engines were called to Hartlake Road in Tudeley, Tonbridge, where the woman needed to be pulled out of the vehicle stuck in the water just before 10.15pm yesterday.

There were no reported injuries.

Kent Fire and Rescue crews were in Tonbridge and Yalding from just before 7.15pm yesterday.

Both areas remain affected by flooding, with people being advised to avoid certain roads.

Green Lane is shut between Haviker Street and Longend Lane.

Hampstead Lane in Yalding is also closed in both directions due to floodwater.

The road is shut between Lees Road and The Boathouse pub, as well as between the high street and Lees Road.

Weather warnings have been in place across Kent over the past few days following spells of strong winds and heavy rain, which led to flooding and fallen trees across the county.

The Met Office is advising people to check road conditions if driving, or bus and train timetables.
