Have-a-go hero foils robber

A robber who stole a handbag from an 83-year-old woman was foiled by a have-a-go-hero who chased him into a park.

The robber targeted his victim in an alley near Tonbridge Canoe Club,River Walk, Tonbridge, just after 12.30pm on Thursday July 17.

The man pulled her bag from her hand, pushed her into a wall and ran off into Tonbridge Park, pursued by an onlooker.He dropped the bag and made off.

The octogenarian was left shocked with injuries to her ankle and arm.

The suspect is 6ft, in his late 20s or early 30s, with a tanned face and scruffy brown hair covering his ears.

He was wearing a dark grey or black fleece with a zip half open, a dark-coloured T-shirt, dark trousers or jeans, and white trainers.

Police have issued this computer generated image of a man they wish to speak to in connection with the robbery.
