Tonbridge: Immigration officers work with Kent Police to identify potential victims of human trafficking

Police and immigration officers carried out an operation to identify potential victims of human trafficking in Tonbridge today.

Home office vans were spotted in the town centre and immigration officers were seen speaking to businesses in the High Street.

A Kent Police spokesman confirmed the force worked with the Home Office as part of a pre-planned operation.

Officers engaged with a number of local employers but said no offences were found to have taken place.

No arrests were made.

A Home Office spokesman said the agency would not comment.
