Kent’s first new “super” ATM deposit service has arrived.

The multi-bank deposit machine inside Morrisons in Quarry Hill Road, Tonbridge, allows customers to do more than just draw out cash.

It was announced at the start of the month that the town was one of 17 places to launch the machines.

They will make it possible to withdraw funds, access balance, change PIN numbers, and deposit cash from multiple banks without having to enter a building.

The machines have been set up by organisation Cash Access UK in partnership with NCR Atelos.

It also offers free cash deposits to customers of Barclays, Bank of Scotland, Halifax, Lloyds, NatWest, Royal Bank of Scotland and Ulster Bank with more banks to be added soon.

Cash Access UK chief executive Gareth Oakley said: “Access to deposit-taking ATMs is vital for cash-reliant UK consumers struggling to access basic banking services and it’s just as important that businesses who accept cash can bank it too.

“We’re pleased to be able to bring this service to residents and local businesses in Tonbridge.”

Diego Navarrete, executive vice president, Global Sales for NCR Atleos, added: “Deposit-taking ATMs are particularly beneficial for consumers who need to make deposits outside of regular banking hours or in locations where there are no physical bank branches nearby.

“We anticipate that banks will increasingly look to this service to maintain cash access for all across the UK.”
