One of the UK's most popular house DJ's is set to perform at a festival in Tunbridge Wells.
Charlie Hedges, 27, is preparing to play a big set alongside British house music DJ Carl Cox at HD Festival on Saturday July 5.
The well-known DJ and radio presenter plays at clubs all over Europe and has previously performed at a range of major UK Festivals.
She has been DJing professionally for over four years and said that she has never looked back: "It's amazing really, I wake up every day and think wow, this is my dream job and I am living it.
"I always wanted to DJ ever since I was little. I started learning when I was seeing a guy who was in the industry.
"He had decks in his house so when he went to work I would practice on those and taught myself really."
The budding star kick-started her career by showing-casing her skills at a bar in Bexleyheath, Kent.
She added: "I met this guy who was a promoter, he basically asked me if I wanted to play at this bar, to bring a load of mates and promote it as much as I could.
"I was so so scared but I thought if I don't take this chance I might not get it again.
"That night I wrote down every song I was going to play, what order and had it all planned. But now I go to work not having even thought about what I'm going to play."
"I don't really think about how many people come to watch me, I just pay attention to how the crowds react and get carried away with the music." - Charlie Hedges
Essex-girl Charlie tries her best to balance her work and social life, making time for family and friends whenever she can.
She added: "It is harder to balance my family time with work than it is my friends.
"My family can't really come to my events, my Nan is 86 I can't really see her coming to a house night, so I make as much time as possible for them.
"My friends usually come to all of my events and we hang out after. They're pretty cool about it all, we have a great time. When I am out in Ibiza they come out every month, they love it!"
Charlie is now in the line-up for the summer festival alongside a range of dance and techno DJ's including Carl Cox, Simon Shaw, George Fitzgerald and Marco Carola.
She said she is looking forward to playing in Tunbridge Wells: "I always like playing a different crowd, the energy should be fantastic and I’m excited to perform the set there.”
The High Definition festival has moved from its home in Essex and this is its first year at Eridge Park in Tunbridge Wells.
