A man who was found dead after a fire in a house has been named.
Geoff Sales was confirmed to have died after a blaze at his home in Sychem Place, Five Oak Green, near Tonbridge, in the early hours of Monday.
A friend, who did not want to be named, paid tribute to Mr Sales, describing him as a "kind and loving man".
They added: "I just think it is so sad. He was such a lovely man.
"I really hope that he’s at peace now."
The alarm was raised at about 4.50am on Monday.
A fire service spokesman said: "Two fire engines attended the address, where sadly a man was pronounced dead at the scene.
"It’s believed the fire started accidentally."
A police spokesman confirmed they were called shortly before 5.25am to help Kent Fire and Rescue Service.
"Officers attended and a man was pronounced deceased at the scene," he added.
"The fire is not being treated as suspicious at this time and a report will be prepared for the coroner."
