British Transport Police (BTP) were called to Paddock Wood station at 11.05pm on September 4 following reports of a casualty on the tracks.

Paramedics also attended and a person was pronounced dead at the scene.

The incident was not being treated as suspicious, but officers were unable to identify who the man was and locate his family to inform them.

The man in his 30s had a large tattoo of a bulldog with a spiked collar and with the text Man Utd on his upper right arm.

His next of kin has now been tracked down and informed following the media appeal and further forensic investigation, a BTP spokesman said.
